Less than 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean as the crow flies, these vines are heavily influenced by the same natural forces that influence our Northern California coastline. The vineyard sits at 800 ft, with aspects that face different directions, creating complexity and character. Due to its proximity to the coast, the vines struggle every year to ripen, and as a result, the waiting game can be quite painful! That being said, our patience is almost always rewarded, and the 2016 Ivywood is no different. An excellent vintage for Coastal Pinot Noir.
Overall, this wine shows notes of sweet fruits, rose petals, and implicit elegance; with perfume, grape bubblegum, and bay leaf on the nose. The palate is mushroom and forest soil characteristics, making this wine as complex as it is beautiful.
